Terms of Service

Last updated: June 2026

1. Acceptance of these Terms

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern access to and use of the CuriaLex platform (the "Platform"), published by [COMPANY NAME]. By accessing the Platform, creating an account, or using any of its features, you ("User") unconditionally accept these Terms in their entirety. If you do not accept these Terms, you must not use the Platform.

2. Description of the Service

CuriaLex is a research tool that allows Users to ask questions, in natural language, about the case law of the Administrative Tribunal of the International Labour Organization (ILOAT) and other tribunals covered by the Platform. CuriaLex retrieves relevant passages from the underlying corpus of judgments and generates answers, with citations, using artificial intelligence.

CuriaLex is a research aid intended to support legal research. It does not constitute legal advice, and does not replace consultation with a qualified legal professional.

3. Account Creation

To use the Platform, the User must create an account and provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information. The User is responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their login credentials, which are strictly personal and non-transferable, and for all activity that occurs under their account.

4. Free Trial

New accounts benefit from a free trial period of 30 days, granting full access to the features of the selected plan, with no payment information required at sign-up.

At the end of the trial period, access to the Platform is suspended until the User selects and pays for a subscription plan.

5. Subscription Plans and Pricing

CuriaLex offers several subscription plans (Individual, Professional, Institutional), described on the Pricing page, with prices indicated in US dollars (USD).

Subscriptions are billed monthly and renew automatically at the end of each billing period, unless cancelled by the User before the renewal date.

[COMPANY NAME] reserves the right to modify its prices. Any price change will be notified to the User at least 30 days before taking effect, and will apply from the next billing cycle.

6. User Obligations

The User agrees not to:

  • Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms;
  • Attempt to circumvent any security, access control, or usage limitation measures;
  • Extract, scrape, or systematically reproduce the contents of the Platform or the underlying corpus, beyond normal use of the research tool;
  • Share their account credentials with a third party, or allow simultaneous use of a single account by multiple individuals beyond what the subscription plan permits;
  • Use the Platform to develop, train, or benchmark a competing product or service, without the prior written consent of [COMPANY NAME].

7. Data Protection

[COMPANY NAME] processes the User's personal data in accordance with applicable data protection law, including the GDPR, as described in the Privacy Policy. The User may exercise their rights of access, rectification, erasure, and portability by contacting [PRIVACY CONTACT EMAIL].

8. Intellectual Property

The Platform, its software, interface, and underlying technology are the exclusive property of [COMPANY NAME] and are protected by intellectual property law. No provision of these Terms grants the User any rights to the Platform beyond a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right of use for the duration of their subscription.

Conversations, questions, and documents submitted by the User through the Platform remain confidential and are not used to train artificial intelligence models, whether by [COMPANY NAME] or by its technology providers, in accordance with the contractual terms governing those providers' commercial APIs.

9. AI-Generated Content and Liability

Answers generated by CuriaLex are produced using artificial intelligence based on the available corpus of judgments. While CuriaLex is designed to provide accurate citations and to minimize errors, [COMPANY NAME] cannot guarantee that the answers generated are exhaustive, accurate, or free of error.

The User remains solely responsible for any decision made on the basis of content generated by the Platform, and is invited to verify the cited sources before relying on them.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, [COMPANY NAME]'s total liability arising from or related to the use of the Platform is limited to the amount paid by the User in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to liability.

10. Termination

The User may cancel their subscription at any time from their account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; the User retains access to the Platform until that date.

[COMPANY NAME] may suspend or terminate a User's access immediately, without notice, in the event of a breach of these Terms. The User's data is retained for a period of 30 days following termination of the account, after which it is deleted, unless a longer retention period is required by law.

11. Modifications to these Terms

[COMPANY NAME] may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be notified to the User at least 15 days before taking effect. [COMPANY NAME] may also modify the features of the Platform without prior notice. Continued use of the Platform after such changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, and after an attempt at amicable resolution, exclusive jurisdiction is granted to the competent civil courts in France.
